My Husband and I are Fighting (Again)

My Husband and I are Fighting (Again)… and this is our plan of attack.

We're at War (and you are, too)WE’RE AT WAR…. That’s what headlines all across the United States boldly proclaimed on the morning of January 17, 1991.

The Masthead was so large, it grabbed my attention the minute I opened the curtains of our little studio apartment.

Wanting to capture this historic moment on film, I bundled my two young children up warm and ushered them across the parking lot to take their picture front of…

Shopping for Shoeboxes

It’s almost time again for #OperationChristmasChild ! Are you ready? Here’s where I’ve been Shopping for Shoeboxes

Shopping to Stuff a ShoeboxI totally missed the back-to-school sales this year.

That’s a bummer, because those sales are where I normally stock up for the shoebox-stuffing party our family hosts each year.

Fortunately, Michaels came to my rescue with a coupon for 25% off your entire purchase — including sale items.

I headed straight to the dollar bins at the front of the store, where I found a slew of great stocking and…

Some folks will tell you that a phone call or an email or even a simple spoken “thanks” at the time of receipt shows sufficient gratitude — don’t believe them. Although any of these options would better than nothing, none will leave the lasting impression of a handwritten note.

10 Things Your Teenager Hates

10 Things Your Teenager Hates. Are you guilty of doing any of these things? I sometimes am!

10 Things Your Teenager Hates (Are you making any of these mistakes?) | http://lovinglifeathome.comThere’s no doubt about it.

Navigating life with a teenager at home can be a little tricky.

All those hormones raging through the bloodstream will sometimes have you walking on eggshells.

(Of course, teens might say the same thing about living with a menopausal mother, but that’s another post for another day.)

No parent is perfect. We all make mistakes. And it is sometimes necessary for us to…

Free 2015 Scrapbooking Calendar

Here’s a free printable 2015 calendar to use for scrapbooking or micro-journaling. Enjoy!

I just finished uploading the calendars I’ll use in my children’s scrapbooks next year.

Screen Shot 2014-09-12 at 11.58.25 PM

These are great for micro-journaling. I draw a new set every year, then fill in them in with a short, one- or two-sentence synopsis of what the family did each day.

Then once each month is complete, I make enough color copies for each of my children to have the full set in their scrapbook.

The Bundle Books I’m Reading First

The 2014 Healthy Living BundleAnybody who has followed this blog for long knows that I love to read. I average about a book a week.

Although I like a variety of genres, I especially enjoy books that teach me something new. The more I read, the more I learn. And the more I learn, the more I want to learn.

That’s one reason I’m so excited about the titles included in this year’s Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle.

I used to think…
